AEO APP — Documentation
How to add and use the AEO APP connector for Claude — example prompts and what it does.
AEO APP is a Claude connector (Model Context Protocol) that audits any web page's Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) — how ready it is to be cited by AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews — and tells you exactly what to fix.
What it does
Point it at a page and a target keyword, optionally add a few competitor URLs, and it:
- fetches and renders the live page,
- scores its on-page AEO signals (structure, schema, answer-ready content, trust signals, crawlability),
- compares it against the competitor pages you supply,
- returns a full report with paste-ready fixes and a shareable link on your own domain.
Add it to Claude
Claude → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste the AEO APP server URL → Connect (sign in with GitHub).
Example prompts
- Run AEO APP — starts a guided audit.
- **Run a complete AEO APP report for https://example.com** targeting "your keyword", comparing against https://competitor-a.com and https://competitor-b.com. Run it end to end, then show me the report.
- **Run an AEO APP technical audit of https://example.com** — on-page and technical issues with paste-ready fixes.
- Is https://example.com ready to be cited by AI answers? — the AEO-readiness report.
- What structured data should https://example.com have? — the schema report, with paste-ready JSON-LD and an EntityMap.
The reports
- Full report — a prioritised action plan with paste-ready fixes, the information-gain analysis, and an evidence appendix.
- Information gain — the concepts competitors cover that your page doesn't, plus net-new ideas none of them have.
- Technical audit — on-page and technical issues, each with its paste-ready fix.
- AEO readiness — the answer-engine signals that make content quotable.
- Structured data — what schema your page has and the paste-ready JSON-LD and EntityMap it should add.
Data handling
AEO APP only uses the page URL, keyword and competitor URLs you provide to run the audit, plus your GitHub sign-in identifier. It doesn't read your Claude conversation or documents. See the Privacy Policy.
